Tunisia-Tunisia limits use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, for its serious effects

Member of the scientific committee to fight against the coronavirus Riad Daghfous revealed , this Friday, that the health authorities in Tunisia have decided to restrict the usage of the “Johnson & Johnson” vaccine, as a precautionary measure, indicating that it does not has recourse to it only at the request of the citizens themselves.

This announcement is justified by the decision of the American drug agency (FDA) to limit the use of the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine to individuals 18 years of age and older for whom other authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccines are not accessible or clinically appropriate and to individuals 18 years of age and older who elect to receive the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine because they would otherwise not receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
The FDA stated it made this decision because of the risk of serious thrombosis (blood clot formation) associated with the “J&J” vaccine.
