Tunisia-Tunisian Paediatric Association advises a regular and unbroken return to school

The Tunisian Paediatric Association advised in a press release, the normal and unbroken return to school of all children while asking for the respect of the barrier rules.
The association maintains this decision by national and international epidemiological data proving that children perform a weak role in the spread of infection, whether from child to child or from child to adult.
According to the same source, children under 10 years of age seldom contribute to the SARS-CoV2 spread and paediatric starting point clusters are unique, if not exceptional opposed to over 10 years of age children.
Moreover, a child displayed to an infected case is less commonly contaminated than an adult, and if affected, is usually asymptomatic and hospitalised forms are rare.
The association points out that in Tunisia, on September 1, the 248 children who tested positive were all asymptomatic and none of them was hospitalised.
The Tunisian Paediatric Association estimates that the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the prolonged school dropout of children are many and severe, mentioning as instances the rise in domestic accidents, aggressivity, the increase in the suicide rate and delinquency in addition to the exacerbation of social and educational inequalities (digital divide) and the loss of learnings.
