Tunisia-UGTT reiterates its request for withdrawal of decree 54

The UGTT  Extended Executive Bureau reiterated its request for the withdrawal of Decree 54 and called for respect for the independence of the judiciary. He furthermore remarked on “the arrests made, without proof, under Decree 54”.

The extended Executive Office of the UGTT also called for massive participation in the rally scheduled for March 2 at the Kasbah to defend the rights of workers and called for respect for the foundations of social dialogue and the application of signed conventions.

“We are dedicated to the right of employees to improve their purchasing power, to lower the tax burden and to the preservation of the dignity of retirees through the revision of retirement pensions and the SMIG,” reads a press release from the UGTT.
