The meeting between the two parties took place over two days in answer to a call for the initiating social negotiations made during the UGTT’s Board of Directors meeting last Tuesday.

The speakers were called upon to review the organizational and financial aspects of consultations in the civil service in accordance with the February 2019 agreement and in the public sector, in the application of the agreement approved on October 22, 2018.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the UGTT in charge of offices and public establishments, Slaheddine Selmi declared this evening 04 February 2021, the conclusion of the 5 + 5 session.

Following which, he posted on his account that: “This government has neither the intention nor the will to save public institutions.”

It should be remarked that the session of the Supreme 5 + 5 Negotiating Committee was launched between the administration and the UGTT on Thursday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Civil Service and Governance, to study a number of past files and agreements.

According to Selmi, the session addressed sectoral agreements and a several of outstanding deals between the two parties in the public sector and civil service amounting to more than 36 agreements.
