Tunisia-[Video]: Fury of taxis owners in Sfax due to the shortage of gas

Taxi owners and drivers in Sfax did not work because of the gas shortage crisis in the governorate which hit their work.

The strike will continue all Wednesday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the strikers.

A speaker told Tunisie Numérique’s correspondent that between 1,000 and 1,500 taxis are at a halt due to gas supply problems.

He emphasised that they are not demanding the gas cylinder used in households but want gas supplied at a decreased rate at gas stations.

The demonstrators who are currently in the crossroads of the city, intend to gather in front of the seat of the governorate of Sfax.

They demand the resolve of the LPG gas file which has been going on since 2011, condemning the authorities’ lack of will to resolve this issue.

Taxi owners and drivers have claimed that this taxi crisis has increased costs, reducing profit margins which is not helping their business.
