Tunisia-[Video] Hatem Boubakri: No public health establishment in the Tunisian north-west contains an MRI machine

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, MP Hatem Boubakri maintained the budget for the health ministry is far from satisfactory, particularly in the context of this health crisis.

He evoked that hospitals in the interior regions and even in the capital are encountering a lack of staff and equipment, especially in terms of ICU beds, recounting the tragedy of the elevator in the Jendouba hospital which led upon the death of a young surgeon. The deputy, in this context, indicated that in all the north-west of the country, no public health establishment contains an MRI machine.

According to calculations in the state budget, the Coronavirus will end in December, but the Minister of Health himself is talking about a third wave in February, he criticised.

He further said that Tunisia is currently in a situation where it discovers itself forced to beg for vaccines against the virus, indicating that states that have paid for these vaccines will have priority at the time of acquisition.
