French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin and Secretary of State for the Digital Economy returned to France hours after arriving in Tunisia as part of a ministerial delegation directed by French Prime Minister Jean Castex.
The two French officials had to go following a nationwide blackout at a telephone operator, which disturbed telephone access to emergency services across the country.
“I returned prematurely from Tunisia where I was accompanying the Prime Minister to make an early update tomorrow with all the services involved,” tweeted Mr Darmanin.
