Tunisia – Was “The Somali” apprehended in Ettadhamen City? And what was he doing there?

Since this morning, photos and video sequences have been making the rounds on the web, showing a crowd of people at City Ettadhamen, in Tunis. The crowd, is now, immobilized, by a person who looks in every way like the terrorist Ahmed Makni, alias “The Somali”. One of the five terrorists who were exfiltrated three days ago from Al Mornaguia prison.

According to on-site testimonies, this individual was spotted and immobilized by two plainclothes police officers, who were in this location, as part of a security deployment of plainclothes officers.

But, since that time, and at that moment, there has been no official response from the authorities, either confirming or denying this arrest.

TunisieNumérique accordingly disseminates this information relayed by social networks and by numerous media, pending possible confirmation from the authorities.

The question that arises insistently is to attempt to understand what such a dangerous individual, and the most wanted in the country, would do in Ettadhamen City, three days after being exfiltrated from the most secure prison in the country.

Isn’t the one who made them escape trying to sell the scenario of a possible action which would target the President of the Republic, whose primary residence is located a few kilometres away?
