Tunisia – We were certainly expecting weather disturbances… But, to this extent?!!

It’s already been a few days since the weather forecasts disclosed, for the days of Eid, the arrival of a climatic disturbance, with clouds, a little rain, even. But we didn’t anticipate it to be this serious!

Indeed, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries sounded the alarm this Tuesday, issuing a warning urging farmers to take the required precautions to protect their livestock and not to leave them outside the stables and keep them away from rivers and valleys. Suffice it to say that the ministry is expecting floods and floods following heavy rainfalls!

The ministry clarified this warning, in its press release, in the context of the meteorological fluctuations that the weather is expected to witness beginning tonight and continuing until Thursday, marked by strong winds varying in speed between 50 and 90 km /h, accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms with a notable drop in temperatures.

In the same context, the ministry highlighted the need for farmers to gather agricultural machinery and equipment and place them in safe places, high up, away from the valley’s waterways, while rechecking the solidity of the greenhouses in anticipation of strong winds. In this regard, the ministry recommended fishermen and fishing boat owners to be careful and not take risks when going to sea.
