Tunisia-Zakat nisab for the Hijri year 1444 announced

The Grand Mufti of the republic announced that the Zakat Nisab for the Hijri year 1444 will be set at  14,728.22 TND.
An amount of 2.5% must be paid out on every saved money that reaches this quorum or more after the turn of the year (which is the lunar year).

Zakat is paid for the poor and needy according to verse 60 of Surat At-Taubah “The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarer; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is Knower, Wise”.
