Tunisia:Examination of assassination case of martyr Mohamed Brahmi Postponed

The criminal chamber responsible for examining terrorism cases at the Court of First Instance of Tunis has decided to delay until April 5 the examination of the case linked to the assassination of martyr Mohamed Al-Brahmi, pending the fulfilment of file dismantling procedures.

The apprehended defendants were brought yesterday during Friday’s hearing from the high-security prison, and some of them declined to leave the court detention room and appear in court.

The defendants’ defence lawyers requested to rule on the case, avoid further postponements and schedule the next pleading hearing. On the other hand, the defence lawyers of those responsible for civil law asked for a delay while awaiting the implementation of the preparatory decisions.

At the end of the deliberations, the committee decided to postpone the case until April 5, pending the completion of the procedures to dismantle the file.
