Turkey warns Greece to ‘learn from history’

Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar remarked on strained relations between his country and Greece during a visit to the Navy Command in Marmara, the local media reported on Monday.

“Learn from history, do not get into trouble, do not enter into new adventures, do not waste the rights and interests of your own people for the rights and interests of other countries,” Akar warned Greece while inspecting one of the six Reis-class submarines. He added that Ankara would not take “a single step back” in the protection of its rights and interests in the Aegean, the Eastern Mediterranean, and Cyprus.
