U.S-Kansas man drank disinfectant after Trump said it could treat COVID-19

A Kansas man drank cleaning product over the weekend after President Donald Trump hovered the thought of ingesting disinfectant as a treatment for coronavirus, the Daily Mail reported.

State health officer Dr Lee Norman discussed the dangerous case at a press briefing as he explained that the Kansas Poison Control Center has seen a more than 40 percent rise in cleaning chemical cases.

Norman said that the man, who was not identified, ‘drank a product because of the advice he’d received’ but did not specify the source of the advice.

‘We’re doing what we can to counter-message against that kind of remedy,’ he said.
