US COVID-19 death toll surpasses 57,266,Infections exceeded 1M mark

Coronavirus infections in the US surpassed a sobering 1 million cases Tuesday, according to  Johns Hopkins University.

The university discovered 1,002,498 confirmed infections nationwide, including 57,266 deaths and 112,315 recoveries, making the US the hardest-hit nation worldwide.

New York state continues to be the epicentre of the virus outbreak in the country, with approximately 30% of all confirmed cases, or 291,996 recorded there.

The US now estimates for approximately one-third of all infections worldwide with total confirmed cases sitting at 3,083,467, according to Johns Hopkins.
