A huge blast shook downtown Nashville early on Christmas Day, local authorities announced on Friday.
“There is an incident involving an explosion,” the Nashville Fire Department said in a statement. “This is an active scene. Metro Nashville Police Department and Nashville Fire Department are on the scene. There are no additional details to provide at this time,” they added.
The explosion is being treated as an “intentional act,” the Metro Nashville Police Department tweeted on Friday, adding that it is investigating the incident with federal agencies.
The blast was “linked to a vehicle,” the police added. According to the latest reports by the local media at least three people have been transported to a hospital after the explosion. No fatalities were reported so far.
