U.S-Los Angeles mayor announces city-wide lockdown

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has commanded all city residents to stay in their homes due to a surge of coronavirus contaminations , maintaining LA has reached a “devastating tipping point.”

“Our City is now close to a devastating tipping point, beyond which the number of hospitalized patients would start to overwhelm our hospital system, in turn risking needless suffering and death,” Garcetti wrote in a statement.

The mayor revealed his decision was a necessary one to make in order to protect the lives of people in America’s second-largest city, which is among the hardest-hit by the outbreak.
