The United Kingdom has recorded two cases of another new coronavirus variant, UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock declared on Wednesday. The new infections were connected to South Africa as both cases “are contacts of people who have travelled from South Africa in the past few weeks,” the secretary remarked.
Speaking at a presser in London, Hancock told the strain “is yet more transmittable and it mutated further than the new variant previously discovered in the UK.”
