Britain’s coronavirus death toll has increased to 6,236 after 854 more patients died in the biggest day-on-day increase yet.
The Department of Health will release its official death toll later, but it will be lower because additional deaths have since been reported by individual UK nations.
England has recorded the most deaths in the UK (5,655), followed by Scotland (296), Wales (212) and Northern Ireland (73).
