US envoy: UNSC vote no guarantee for two-state solution

United States Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield stressed that while the US supports the idea of a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a UN Security Council resolution regarding Palestinian statehood might not guarantee this outcome.

Speaking at a press conference in Seoul, South Korea after meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, she reiterated President Joe Biden’s stance on the matter, affirming support for a scenario where both Palestinians and Israelis have their own secure states.

“We are working on the ground to get to that in place as quickly as possible,” she concluded.
