US to expel over 12 Saudi military trainees after shooting

More than a dozen Saudi servicemen who are training at U.S. military bases will be dismissed from the United States in the aftereffect of a Pentagon investigation provoked by the fatal Dec. 6 firing by a Saudi Air Force officer at an American naval base in Florida, CNN stated.

The Saudi staff being ousted are not cited of helping the Saudi Air Force second lieutenant who killed three American sailors at the Pensacola installation, CNN reported, quoting unnamed references.

The Pentagon referred inquiries to the Justice Department, which did not directly counter to a petition for comment. The FBI and the Saudi Embassy in Washington did not promptly respond to requests for comment.

The Pentagon declared it was freezing operational training of all Saudi Arabian military personnel in the United States after the incident. The Pentagon then announced on Dec. 19 that it discovered no menace in its examination of around 850 military students from Saudi Arabia studying in the United States.
