Washington, Baghdad to discuss future of coalition troops in Iraq

United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin reported on Thursday that Washington and Baghdad will soon start talks focused on the future presence of the coalition forces in Iraq.

The two parties are expected to discuss the “transition to an enduring bilateral security partnership between Iraq and the United States.” Iraqi Foreign Ministry also disclosed earlier today that the parties involved will initiate a “gradual” and “deliberate reduction” of US “advisors” on Iraqi soil.
