The World Health Organization warned on Monday that there might never be a “silver bullet” for the coronavirus pandemic, indicating the virus might remain despite efforts to develop a vaccine.
“There is no silver bullet at the moment and there might never be,” WHO Director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a virtual briefing in Geneva.
Last week, the WHO chief said he expects the effects of the global health crisis to be felt for decades to come as he pointed to new virus outbreaks in a number of countries.
