Yemen’s warring parties prolong truce for another 2 months

Yemen’s Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition have agreed to prolong the existing truce for another two months on the same terms as previously proposed, the United Nations announced on Tuesday.

“The main objective of the current truce remains to provide a tangible breakthrough for civilians in the provisions of the truce and to create an environment conducive to achieving a peaceful settlement of the conflict through an inclusive political process,” said UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg (pictured).
