Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his nightly media address said 101 Ukrainians were returned home in Kyiv’s latest prisoner exchange with Russia.
Most of the released prisoners are members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, some of whom fought in Mariupol. One civilian is the first deputy mayor of the city of Energodar, where the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station is located.
“Moving forward with the further liberation of our land is a priority that we are carefully preparing,” Zelensky stressed. He reiterated that Kyiv is preparing for Russian escalation and that keeping the situation on the frontline under control remains the country’s priority.
