Zelensky calls for action after Russian referenda

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the international community to “act now” after Russian authorities released the results of the referenda held in occupied regions of Ukraine.

“Annexation is the kind of move that pits him alone against the whole of humanity,” said Zelensky, talking about Russian President Vladimir Putin. “A clear signal is now needed from every country in the world,” the Ukrainian leader added. In condemning Moscow’s alleged attempts to annex the territory of Ukraine, Zelensky described the proceedings as a “farce” that is “far from a referendum.”
