Borrell: Leaks are result of a deliberate act

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell  stated on Wednesday that the European Union is “deeply concerned” about the leaks of the Nord Stream system while adding that “all available information indicates those leaks are the result of a deliberate act.”

“Any deliberate disruption of European energy infrastructure is utterly unacceptable and will be met with a robust and united response,” said Borrell in a statement.

The representative also mentioned that the bloc would support any investigation to clarify what happened. “Safety and environmental concerns are of utmost priority. These incidents are not a coincidence and affect us all.”
