An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck the La Rioja region, located in the western part of Argentina, data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) showed on Wednesday.
The quake hit at a depth of 155 kilometers and an 182-kilometer distance from Copiapo in Chile. No further information has been given on potential damages.
