6.1-magnitude earthquake hits Taiwan

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Taiwan, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported on Monday.

According to EMSC, the quake hit at a depth of 11 kilometers about 28 kilometers south-southeast of Hualien City and 108 kilometers east-southeast of Taichung at approximately 2:26 am local time. Meanwhile, another one of 6.0-magnitude registered 13 kilometers south-southwest of Hualien City was registered.
