Matmata district in Gabes hit its highest recorded temperature 46.7C (116.06F) amid a heatwave that has been sweeping Tunisia in the last few days.The National Institute of Meteorology recorded 46.6C in Sidi Bouzid and 46.4C in Tozeur, Kebili and Medinine.
