Tunisia to send medical team and aid for Palestinians in Gaza

 Ministry of National Defense confirmed preparation is undergoing to dispatch two military planes to the Palestinian territories, which will carry a specialized medical team and medical and humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Mabrouk Korchid calls on the Minister of Health to resign

 MP Mabrouk Korchid called on Health Minister Faouzi Mehdi to step down from his post, stating he has failed to take the required measures to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Faouzi Mahdi does not rule out the possibility of a fourth COVID wave

Speaking at today plenary session, health minister Faouzi Mehdi said that Although some indicators have improved, the situation still in a critical situation.

To this end, the minister did not rule out the hypothesis of a prospective fourth epidemiological wave and hence of a further increase in the number of infections, deaths and hospitalizations.

Mongi Khadhraoui’s daughter kidnapped and found

The daughter of journalist Mongi Khadhraoui “Rima” was kidnapped by a taxi driver, according to a report published on the journalist’s official page.

Relatives of the family later stated that the teenager was found and that she is doing well.

Beja: The cereal harvest is foreseen to surpass 3.7 million quintals this year

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the regional agricultural delegate affirmed that the cereal harvest for this year is foreseen to surpass 3.7 million quintals.He further indicated that the guardianship authorities have agreed to set in place a specific work plan to prepare for the harvest season and avoid problems confronted in previous seasons.

Mustapha Ben Ahmed: Seeking investments is not the role of the President of the Republic

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Tahya Tounes MP Mustapha Ben Ahmed responded to the President of the Republic Kais Said speech which was broadcasted on a French channel, which generated vast controversy and in which the latter declared that the political situation in Tunisia scares foreign investors.

The MP emphasised that the search for investments does not fall under the jurisdiction of the President of the Republic.

Illegal migration the subject of  a meeting between President Saïed Johansson and Lamorgese

President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed welcomed on Thursday the European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson, and the Italian Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese at the Carthage Presidential Palace. The Head of State highlighted the necessity to adopt a comprehensive approach to migration, as security resolutions have shown their limits. This new approach will have to discuss the underlying reasons.

For her part, the Italian minister reemphasised her country’s commitment to proceed to support Tunisia by boosting investments and participating in development in interior regions, while generating jobs for young people to curb the migration phenomenon.
