President Mohammed Ennaceur extended his most profound sympathies over the death of former French President Jacques Chirac “It is with great sorrow that I learned about the death of Jacques Chirac, former President of the French Republic, and a great friend of Tunisia, who had dedicated his life to the service of his country and defended with conviction the value of peace and dialogue in the world,” Ennaceur said in the message.
“At this painful time in which France has lost an illustrious son who had marked his time, I offer my deep condolences and those of the Tunisian people as well as our solidarity with the family of the deceased and the friendly French people,” reads a press release issued by the presidency of the republic, reported by the TAP agency .
