Tunisia-Ali Laarayedh: Ennahdha refuses to be the scapegoat

Speaking to AlJazeera.Net, former interior minister and Enahdha member Ali Laarayedh said the Ennahdha party acknowledges its wrongs, however, it rejects being the scapegoat.

The Ennahdha party is not solely accountable for everything that has occurred during the past 10 years, as it did not rule the country alone. The President of the Republic is additionally partly responsible for the deepening of the political crisis, he said. He evoked that the Head of State declined to collaborate with the prime minister and parliament and that he also refused to allow ministers chosen by Mechichi to be sworn in.

Right now, all power is in the hands of Kais Saied, which will have terrible consequences, and lead the country into the unknown, he added.

Indeed, the President of the Republic did not just halt the work of Parliament, he suspended the entire constitution, said Laareyedh.
