In a statement to a private radio, Deputy Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) Samir Cheffi expressed his optimism over the designation of Malek Zahi as Minister of Social Affairs. He stated that the post is well deserved by the current minister, who is a trade unionist and human rights, activist.
He further evoked that what has been occurring in Tunisia since July 25 represents a historic turning point that should meet the revolutionary expectations of the Tunisian people, calling for a national dialogue to conclude the democratic process.
