Tunisia: 11 Africans rescued off Kerkennah

The Defense Ministry declared that 11 irregular migrants of various African nationalities were rescued on Sunday evening by a unit of the Navy.
They were on board a ship in difficulty and requested assistance in El Attaya East (Kerkennah) 12 miles inside Tunisian territorial waters.
They are from Nigeria (2), Ivory Coast (2), Equatorial Guinea (2), Senegal (1), Sudan (1), Mali (1), Gambia (1) and Mauritania (1), states.
They are aged between 13 and 45 years old, including a child, and declared having sailed the night of December 15 to 16, 2021 from the Boukamech coast in Libya to reach the European area.
