Turkey won’t allow military ships through straits

The Turkish government declared on Monday that it won’t allow military ships to go through the Dardanelles and the Bosphorus straits, in accordance with the Montreux Convention.

“We implemented what Montreux says, and we will do so from now on. There has been no request for passage through the straits until today,” Anadolu Agency quoted Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu as saying.
