Yoon, Kishida to meet for talks on Saturday

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Saturday announced he will hold his second-ever in-person meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Saturday, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing Yoon’s office.

“The two sides agreed on the need for a summit given the importance of security cooperation in the wake of North Korea’s increased provocations”, a presidential official said, according to Yonhap.

The leaders will meet in Cambodia on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) regional forum, where they plan to hold a series of international summits over the next week.
