After their defeat in the semi-final against Egypt, the Tunisian senior men’s handball team secured the bronze medal in the 26th edition of the 2024 African Championship held in Cairo.
In the match for third place (video), the Tunisian team won over their Cape Verdean counterparts with a score of 35-28, leading 20-13 at halftime. This win gives them another chance to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, as they will compete in a qualifying tournament scheduled for March.
It’s worth noting that the championship final, featuring Egypt and Algeria, is set for this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (local time).
