At least 46 people have been killed in wildfires that have been burning across central Chile since Friday, President Gabriel Boric stated. So far, over 1,000 houses have been destroyed.
Boric said the death toll will continue to grow as 92 fires are still active. He announced that the government was deploying additional military units and pledged no resources would be spared to get the blazes under control.
