Aung San Suu Kyi given six-year prison sentence

Myanmar’s deposed State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi was found guilty on Monday on several more charges of corruption, which added six years to her already existing prison sentence.

The High Court of the region of Mandalay found that Aung San Suu Kyi leased public land in the capital of Naypyidaw to the charitable organization Daw Khin Kyi Foundation at a lower price compared to the rate the Internal Revenue Department determined for such cases.
