Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said in the country’s parliament on Thursday that the foreign ministers of the BRICS member countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, reached out to Indonesia with an offer to join the alliance.
“Internal studies are still being conducted to weigh the political and economic benefits,” she explained. Nevertheless, she said, Indonesia has “good relations with all BRICS member countries.”
