Denmark says it detected 18 Omicron-linked deaths

Denmark’s State Serum Institute (SSI) revealed on Tuesday that a total of 18 people died in that country from the consequences of the new strain of COVID-19, Omicron, in the period between November 21 and December 28.

The SSI added that 55,691 tested positive for the newly emerged variant in that period. However, it did not disclose further details on the deceased, such as their ages and overall health situation.

In the same timespan, Denmark reported a record rise in infections registered daily of 16,164.
