Billionaire and patriarch of Egypt’s wealthiest family Onsi Sawiris passed away on Tuesday at the age of 91, Coptic official Sherif Doss declared on Facebook.
Onsi Sawiris is the father of the famous Egyptian businessmen Naguib, Nassef, and Samih Sawiris and the founder of the Orascom conglomerate in 1950.
The three billionaire sons are running the business of the construction, tourism, telecommunications, technology, and industrial companies of the conglomerate.
According to Forbes, the real-time net worth of Onsi Sawiris is estimated at $993.8 million.
