Ennahdha headquarters in Tunis searched and sealed off

The Anti-Cyber Crime Brigade is to investigate the statements made by Ennahdha leader Rached Ghannouchi at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Tunis 1 Court of First Instance, Spokesperson for the National Guard Houssemeddine Jebali said on Tuesday.    

Rached Ghannouchi’s statements fall under criminal acts intended to overthrow the government or incite inhabitants to attack each other with weapons, causing chaos, murder and looting, the same source added.

The Prosecutor’s Office also ordered the brigade to search the central headquarters of Ennahdha movement in Tunis and seal it off.

Five people, including the leader of the Ennahdha movement, were arrested, the National Guard spokesman added.

Rached Ghannouchi was arrested, Monday evening, after an arrest warrant was issued against him by the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Tunis 1.
