The European Council announced on Friday that it is expanding sanctions against Jewish settlers in the West Bank for “serious human rights abuses” against Palestinians. The measures include Lehava, a radical right-wing Jewish supremacist group, and Hilltop Youth, a radical youth group. The Council is also designating two Hilltop Youth members “involved in deadly attacks against Palestinians in 2015 and 2023” as well as two other individuals taking part in multiple violent acts.
The sanctioned organizations and individuals are subject to an asset freeze and a travel ban to the European Union. In addition, they cannot receive funds or economic resources from the EU directly or indirectly.
