Gaza: The health situation is “beyond imaginable”, according to WHO

The situation in the Gaza Strip has been described as increasingly dire by Christian Lindmeier, a spokesperson for the World Health Organization (WHO). He underscored the severe strain on the health system, stating that it cannot afford to lose any more ambulances or hospital beds. Lindmeier emphasised the critical shortage of basic supplies, with people, including children, desperately begging and crying for water. The current estimate is that Gaza has only one or two litres of fresh water per day for all purposes, not just drinking. The situation is described as beyond imaginable, indicating a severe humanitarian crisis.
