German 7-day incidence rate at record 1176.8

The German seven-day COVID-19 incidence rate has risen to its highest level since the pandemic began with 1176.8 cases seen per 100,000 inhabitants, according to data compiled by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

The nationwide death toll reached 117,786 in the meantime, with another 61 fatal outcomes attributed to the virus, while the total number of infections rose by the nation’s third-highest figure of 78,318 to a total of 9,815,533.
