The tragic stabbing of a six-year-old Muslim boy near Chicago has sparked anger and been called a “horrific act of hatred” by authorities and activists. The tragedy, which happened on Saturday, October 15, is linked, according to the police, to the ongoing conflict in Palestine.
The child was struck with shocking violence, receiving 26 stab wounds, which sadly led to his demise in hospital. His mother, aged 32, is still alive, although seriously wounded. The Will County, Illinois, sheriff’s office quickly called the attack “heinous.”
According to investigators, the victims of this attack were specifically targeted by the attacker because of their Muslim faith and in connection with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, involving Hamas and Israel. The tragic incident occurred approximately 40 miles west of Chicago.
