JCC Awards: “Feathers” by Egyptian Omar El Zohairy wins Golden Tanit

The Golden Tanit of the Carthage Film Festival (JCC) 2021 was awarded to Egyptian film “Feathers” directed by Omar El Zohairy, winner of three other prizes.
The full list of award-winners in the official competition of JCC organised from October 30 to November 6, was unveiled Saturday night at a ceremony held at the Opera Theater in the City of Culture in Tunis.
“Feathers” also won the Tanit d’Or in the competition first work, Tahar Cheriaa prize.
In the artistic section, the winner of the Golden Tanit won two other prizes including the best screenplay, awarded to Ahmed Ameur and Omar El Zohairy and the best female performance, awarded to Demyana Nassar.
Tunisia won three prizes including the Special Mention of the Jury which was awarded to “Golden Butterfly” by Abdelhamid Bouchnak, “Insurrection” feature film by Jilani Saadi and “In the land of Uncle Salem” short film by Slim Belhiba won the Bronze Tanit.
