The first Tunisian nurses from a group of 76 have arrived in Italy to take up the hospital posts made available by GSD in support of the important initiative created by the Italian Ministry of the Interior and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
GKSD Chairman Kamel Ghribi stated: “Bilateral cooperation in healthcare training should be encouraged, and the arrival of these nurses from Tunisia will mark the beginning of a collaboration that will see nurses being trained and supported not only professionally but also in learning the Italian language and culture which will bring added value to both Italy and their home nation. The initiative is also the first example of a legal and forward-looking response to the migration challenge that is a fundamental issue of importance for both Italy and Tunisia.
Through such collaborations we can demonstrate that legal migration flows work. I would like to thank all departments in the Italian government who have come together to contribute to this project and make it work;
