The Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections declared the opening of candidacy for elections in 13 municipalities, and the launch of awareness and rationalization campaigns in them.

The municipalities included Janzour, Gharyan, Al-Khums, Bani Walid, Zella, Marada, Al-Urban, Al-Jalidah, Al-Abraq, Al-Qeeb, Zuweila, Tenaynai and Al-Mardom.

The committee affirmed the fulfilment of all technical, logistical and legal procedures to execute the election of municipal councils in the declared municipalities, according to the absolute closed list system.
